We rose early to catch a westbound train yesterday and found ourselves in a familiar situation when we arrived. We went out the door to find that the temperature and humidity were high and the clouds were piling up to the north of us. We only had about 10 kilometres to go to get home but we knew we had to be quick about it. No dallying for us.
Up the hill we went from the station, and across the city while the heat and humidity rose. Unlike our arrival in Montreal a few days before, we didn’t cut it as close. We did get a lovely storm soon after we got in our apartment – one with lovely lightning and thunder that crashed around us while the hawks that live on the neighbouring building played in the wind.
And then it was all over but the mist in the valleys below….
