This week’s contribution to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge takes me back to Quebec City. In 2008, I spent nearly a year on a work-related assignment in Quebec City. An assignment like that gave me the chance to really explore the city. On one bike ride I came across this church. The surroundings were in really good shape and it was next to a very touristy area so this really stood out.
A bit of research showed that this is the Église Saint-Vincent-de-Paul. There was a bit of drama surrounding it’s potential demolition but a quick visit to Google Street View shows that it is no longer there…
What a wonderful building to have photographed. 😀
Thanks. I only regret not getting a picture of the facade when I was there. From the other side it looked like an almost normal church. From the side it looked like a movie set from a 1940’s western film. Perfect facade in front, nothing in the back…
How sad it’s gone.
