Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge: People at Work

fog

It’s Monday morning and I am wide awake at 4:00 AM. Even though it’s only been about six hours, I can’t sleep any more. The previous Friday a mandatory meeting was called for noon and if you looked at the invitation it wasn’t hard to tell why. There were obvious clues: senior management on the call and an HR representative. A job change is coming whether I like it or not. My days of being a “person at work” where I am right now will be over at the end of 2018.

In our two huge buildings it appears that only I and one other person are awake to see the magic outside. Like my future, the earth below is obscured. There are some bright lights shining through the fog that let me know that something is there, but there is only one way to know for sure what’s beyond the mist: Patiently wait and see what’s coming next. It won’t be long before the sun comes out, the wind picks up and the fog burns off and I’ll see what is on the other side of it.

And as for what those lights are? I’ll share a little bit about that another time. But what I can tell you now is they’re exciting and interesting. 2019 and beyond will be amazing and interesting times.

Inspired by a liberal interpretation of this week’s Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: People at Work.
