As the weather improves, Torontonians head for the lake shore. There are lots of different options. Sugar Beach sits in the shadow of the Redpath Sugar Refinery. Though you can’t go in the water here, there is lovely beach sand, umbrellas, and Muskoka chairs to relax in. It’s right next to the Martin Goodman Trail so it’s also on a fantastic bike route. It’s a lovely place to spend a summer afternoon.
In past summers it’s also played host to the Sail-In Cinema. A two-sided screen is placed on a barge just off the shore. People can watch movies from either the beach or, if they’re lucky, from their boat in the water.
I have been to many drive-ins, but never heard of a sail in.
Pretty phot! The sail-in cinema sounds awesome!
Thanks. It’s a pretty cool place.
Now I just need someone to give me a boat to sail in with!
