In the centre of Louisiana, just down the road from the dozens of chemical plants that give the region the nickname “Cancer Alley” lies the little town of Gonzales. Before Gonzales was known for its high school football team or the long chains of organic molecules that pay many people’s mortgages, it was known for something else:

Over the past several years, my biggest customer has been in Louisiana. This has resulted in my going down there fairly often. In my busiest year, 2016, I spent 120 days in Louisiana – enough time that when we applied for Canadian citizenship last year the government asked for me to get an FBI background check done. Sunday in Louisiana

  It’s never good to sit alone all day in a hotel room on a business trip and so I made a plan yesterday to get out and do something and knock a few errands off as well.  And so it was that I rode up to Baton Rouge.
